got a new car on sunday finally.

It’s a new fiat punto 60s (well, s reg - 1998). Got it from a place in camberley, st clair or something. Thing is, there was another 2 puntos at another garage in camberley - car solutions. the better of the 2 was the one i looked at & was a 75 sx. 75 meaning 75bhp (quicker) and sx meaning more gadgets like electric windows, central locking, sunroof, radio controls on wheel, fogs, colour coded bumpers etc. However, the back door was stiff - this could have been because it was cold or something else. Also as I heard later on, it was ‘running lumpy’. It was having problems starting in cold weather & the overall running was poor. Of course they said they’d fix it but after the car I’ve had, It’s probably best to steer clear. The other was a 60s at the same price as the one I got at the other garage. They both had about 70000-80000 miles and were an ‘r’ reg at car solutions.

The place I got the punto from had another punto (common ) & that was the same but black so more expensive! Looked pretty good though, as the bumpers didnt stick out like they did on the 60 s. The mileage on the one I got was about 49000, which was pretty good.

However, I couldn’t test drive the car. It needed a fuel pump. Forget what I said just a minte ago .

So anyway, the car I got is pretty basic, but was newer & had much less miles. So it was a much better buy than the 60s at the other place - but now I think about it, it probably would have been better to get the 75sx from the other place as they had a 3month warranty too. So if the problem came back, I could get it fixed at no extra cost.

Oh well. I’ve been looking around the Internet at punto sites & seen you can basically turn the car I got into an sx version. You can probably also make it 75 bhp, but I’m not too bothered about that - higher insurance. As long as this car is nippier than the old fiesta I’ll be happy. Which it will be (I haven’t actually got it yet). I may add a new bumper to my punto like the sx bumper instead of the horrible dark grey I have atm. Not a massive chav like bumper, but just another punto one - maybe sx or gt bumpers.

I could also add a central locking kit for about £50. If I really wanted. Also electric windows can be added if needed. Fog lights aswell .

But I’ll see what it’s like so far, as to whether I do any modifications to it

At work the other day, saw status quo! They were eating in the common room (the posh bit) of where I work. I was waiting for my lift and the other guy came out said ’saw status quo’. (some advantages of not having a car). I was like :O. huh? When did you see them? lol. So went back to take a look - just kept jumping up to lok through the window lol.

Well, it was fun .

I should make a celebrity category lol. Even though I didn’t see the main guys - the one with the pony tail & the other one. I saw the crazy looking one - rhino or something & the back of the other guy.

Saw Matt Allwright today, swear it was him. How cool is that?! Seriously.

Now I wished I got a picture of him, dammit. Could have said ‘Alright, Matt!’ But I’m sure he gets that all the time lol. Grr really wished I got a picture because now I’m doubting myself, but I’m sure it was him. Mark also thought it was him & so did Jenny at the till, who I told (J P)…

weird things going on.

First thing I realised was that my computing exam was on Friday the 13th. I’m not that superstitious, so it didn’t bother me. It’s just like any other day.

I also noted that my ucas username (for university applications) was ‘[my name]13‘. This means I was the 13th person with my name to register. Well, i mentioned this to some people, as I’m like one of the very last people to give it in. I just didn’t have a clue what I wanted to do at university. My mates had interviews before I finally gave it in, today. I haven’t been to any open days, unlike just about everyone I know, simply because I don’t know what course I want to do and seems like a waste of petrol and money. This makes me start to think about the significance of 13. Would I be on my way to interviews if I was the 12th or 14th person to register?

Last night I was looking at my AS level psychology results and worked out how many marks I needed to go up a grade, seen as I had a resit for psychology today. D’you know what it is yet? Yup, 13. 13 marks to go from a D to a C. My current total marks for psychology is 167. 180 marks is a C. 180 - 167 = 13. At the time, I didn’t take any notice of the actual number 13, as as I said, I’m not superstitious.

But wait, it gets worse. History. Well yes history is worse but that’s not the point. For history I got 167 marks also (thought that was weird at the time, as I was going to drop the one I got lowest marks in!). This means that history would also need another 13 marks to make it up to a C, 180 marks.

Today I checked my marks again to see how many marks I needed for a grade up in computing, as I’ve got the resit on Friday. Friday the 13th. And yes, there was of course, 13 marks needed to get from a C to a B. 13 whole marks. 13 whole freaky marks. I had 197 marks and a B is 210 marks, 210 - 197 = 13!

Finally, I am in year 13. Yep, so that’s 13 years of school. Now I know my maths isn’t brilliant, but I sure can count to 13.

How weird is that, I mean… weird. But I’m not bothered, I’m not superstitious. Am I?

Now I’m off to catch the number 13 bus for school, bye! (joke)

hey, merry christmas, hope you had a good holiday (if anyone’s reading this…). lol.

anyways, mine was ok. Got some cool stuff, actually why not give a run down of all presents :

- Cool t-shirt (notice the capital - thats how cool it is )

- and a sweatshirt type thing,

umm…*looks around room*

- a cool tyre clock from loe & a toy car lol,
- Some money also, about £30 in all ,
- Usual dedoriant, shower stuff, etc,
- a meccano beach buggy,which i started but got distracted lol.
- ooh and a car winter cleaning kit type thing, with screen wash, torch, scraper, cloth, sponge, & defrosting spray.
- family guy dvd to share with bro (from tom)
- budweiser gift set with bottle opener & glass & drink, of course :p from James. That was cool, but new years eve came… and it went… weird. lol .

yeh, so im happy with that

More importantly, people were happy with the things i gave them . I was proud of them lol: eyetoy kinetic, dvds for bros & mum (3 for £19 @ tesco ), a crocus that you grow in a jar (er, yeh) & dictionary lol for nan (well hers was falling apart). also got some sweets for mates & diesel perfume for loe (no, not perfume smelling of diesel fuel. that would be sick, nice smell though ).

er what else….
i’ll do a post about what i got in sales too lol. you’ll be amazed. yeh, yeh you will…
also, about my spray-start car. This is turning into some sort of car blog. oooh might make one of them… anyways, I’ve learnt millions of things in mechanics from what has gone wrong with my car lol. Now that amazed you…

btw, im sure i wrote a post & saved it in drafts, now i cant find where drafts are :s weird. so now im thinking i didn’t, as if i did it would stand out somewhere on this wordpress blog. lol. or im going crazy. Aerosmith, crazy. cool song - ive been listening to them recently - didnt realise they were such a cool band lol. Gotta make a cd for my car of them

yep, writing about driving again

well anyway my fiesta cuts out all the time, which isnt fun, especially when the brakes stop working when it cuts out… but its not as bad as you think - its only when i take my foot off the accellerator. This is usually when im braking, so if im braking when the engine goes off, then i can use the brakes after that. Its only if i dont touch the brakes & the engine goes off - then i cant use them until i turn the key :S strange…

i didnt start the other day, but it was ok because i had it booked into the mechanics for a few days later. he got it started again, but sadly (yes, i know, sadly) it still cuts out. its hard to test if its fixed because its only when the engines cold - so he wasnt sure if it was fixed. But its going back to him wednesday - when he will go through it part by part.

the last trip to the mechanics cost £95. he changed some engine management sensor part that was thinking it was dead when it wasnt or something… but the dodgy thing is that he found the gearbox was not held down. Yes, it was just resting on the engine. *thinks back* oh thats why it would do a violent jump when i went into 2nd! i thought it was because i was too rough with it…lol. Also i couldnt start quickly before - it would judder - but now i can. Even do a wheelspin lol. Doesnt feel as good in a front wheel drive car

but the surprising thing is i really missed driving while the car wasnt working. How will i cope when at uni :O! Top gear made it even worse, by driving cars lol. But then when i drove my car when i got it back, it didnt feel that great. A bit boring. Like it had no power at all. But now i love driving again. Why am i telling you this?

So anyway, umm i forgot what i was gonna say…

woohoo!!

Passed first time This is great!
I got 5 minors (your allowed 15, so this is quite good), and no majors, obviously

My test was at 8.40 so i had to get up at 6! i think its the earliest ive ever got up! My instructor, ian, was picking me up at 7. So there I am sitting in the car in pitch black pouring rain heading to the test centre…

We got there & i took over the driving (dont know why i didnt drive there, ian said it was so i dont get too exhausted lol). somehow, i was driving my best ever i was remembering everything & the least Ian says, the better (about my driving lol) - so he didnt have to correct me on much. He just went over things. My reverse round a corner wasnt too good - the back was sticking out a bit so i had to do it again, but the reverse park & turn in the road were fine! Apart from accidently rolling forward a tiny bit when in reverse, but we’ll forget about that lol.

I got to the test centre and parked up. We were the first. We went over the ’show me, tell me’ questions (about car maintenance) and got ‘fired up’ as it were Had some Lucozade too Then we headed to the waiting room (last ones there ). We waited, and waited. 2 minutes later Lynn came out (Ian said I might get her as an examiner) and she called out my name.

‘Hi, that me’ I said, and stood. She asked a few questions like is that your current address etc and asked me to sign the examining sheet. I did so & we left (first ones out ). we got out & she asked me to read the number plate over there. I quickly threw on my glasses & read it. ‘OK, thank you’ she said, and ‘What car will you be driving?’. ‘Ians black fiesta’, I said. She told me to get in, while she took the car details (reg no. etc). When she got in, she asked me the show me tell me questions & I got them fine I got asked the one about how to test the handbrake for excessive wear, and about testing the brake lights. Nothing too difficult.

And we were off. I was the first ‘off the mark’ compared to all the others taking there test . I made it out the test centre & thought ‘this seems too easy, am i forgetting something?’ I realised just after i got passed the traffic lights by the test area - so i put on my lights & wipers! O yeh, it was raining.

During the actual test, I did pretty well Even if I do say so myself . I started off in the area where Ian had just taken me before the test, which was cool! It seemed like almost straight away she asked me to ‘pull over where it is convenient, please’. So i did. About 4 different times. Once she added ‘by the post box’ - I knew what was coming - a reverse round the corner. it started off badly though. Well i thought it was bad. I couldnt see the kerb in the mirror in the back - the one i need to do this manouvre. so i kept turning until it came into view - well the actual kerb didnt actually come in to view, it was the green verge that i saw. Oh well, still completed it fine. She asked me to go back a bit once i had stopped, which i thought I’d get a minor for - but no She was being kind lol.

The turn in the road (3 point turn) was done ok. With an irate taxi driver to my side lol not really irate This was the only known mistake i made during the test (i think): Trying to start off after being told to pull over in neutral. lol. (twice ) Later on i was going down a road & even used 5th gear lol. anyways, another road joined it & it wasnt until later on down the road that i realised - it was a dual carriageway! That wasnt the problem - I was in the right lane & not overtaking! We drive on the left in this country so i must drive on the right generally on a dual carriageway. But as the lane joined, it had made my lane the right (as in not left) lane. When i realised, i looked trying to get over, but there was too many cars on the left. Then i thought shit its my fault - they couldnt overtake the van in the left because i wasnt. so i got to 70mph & was gonna go into the left, but Lynn said go right at the next roundabout. So I had to stay in that lane! I thought i was doing wrong, but wasnt too sure. thats why i wasnt sure if i’d passed. But it turned out she didnt even give me a minor for it - so i must have done ok - it was only a short dual carriageway anayway.

Apart from that, i drove fine
Got minors for:
- moving off (3 minors!) She said it was something to do with timing & after doing all the mirrors, more cars would be coming.
- Normal stopping - Aparantley i stopped to far from the kerb once (or twice) when there was a car on the other side of the road.
- Position on the road - aparantly I went too far in the middle of the road once or twice.

Wow this is like the longest post ive ever done
But now i dont have to walk 50 minutes to school (or ride) and i can drive to work
Go anywhere! I love it

I think ive decided what to do with my site
I’m going to:-
Change my hm site to sezani.hostmatrix.org (or something like that), & keep as blog. - I dont need a short name for people to remember as no one is going to want to remember it . Most traffic will come from fellow bloggers & search engines. Not using a co.nr domain also means I wont need their banner (only needed on main page, but with wordpress, it will be on every page (side nav–>). Also, hm is a respected site, which will equal better pagerank etc then i can link to…

A new site where I will try out my ideas - basically the main pages of this site atm - competitions page etc and other new ideas. This will be hosted somewhere else & will use a co.nr domain. When i start to get more visitors I will probably add a forum aswell.

Another option is to get a co.nr domain for my blog, but I think the positives of being associated with hostmatrix outweigh the positives of a short domain name, with a blog like this. So my hm site (the blog) will need no coding much, as it will be entirely wordpress, like the blog is now.

At the moment I’ve been holding back with advertising this site, as I knew I was going to change the name of it. So then if (if ) I got a load of visitors, they would lose the site when the name changed. Also, i would have to change the links in all directories etc.

So, looking forward to it
